Why Don't I Feel Like Myself? The Missing Piece May Surprise You

July 05, 20263 min read

Have you ever found yourself asking, "Why don't I feel like myself?" If so, you're not alone. More and more people are searching for ways to reconnect with their authentic selves, regain confidence, and reclaim their personal power.

So many of us today are searching for a greater sense of ourselves.

We are looking for confidence, purpose, authenticity, and a feeling of personal power. We may turn to books, therapy, podcasts, retreats, or spiritual practices, hoping to discover what's missing.

But what if the issue isn't that something is missing?

What if it's an energy management problem?

Many of us grow up surrounded by messages about who we're supposed to be.

"Be more competitive."

"Be more outgoing."

"Go after what you want."

While these ideas may be well-intentioned, they can quietly pull us away from ourselves. We begin measuring our lives against someone else's definition of success instead of discovering our own.

From an energetic perspective, the more we try to become someone else's idea of who we should be, the further we move away from ourselves.

Power Over vs. Owning Our Own Power

Another common misunderstanding is what power actually is.

Our culture often teaches that power means influence, control, or having an advantage over someone else. That's power over—and it naturally creates competition, separation, and comparison.

Owning our own power is something entirely different.

It isn't about controlling another person. It isn't about winning or proving ourselves.

It's about having access to our own energy and ourown inner knowing.

When we're grounded and centered, we make decisions with greater clarity. We're less likely to be pulled around by other people's opinions, emotions, or expectations because we're connected to ourselves instead of looking outside for answers.

Where Does Our Power Go?

It may seem as though we've given away our power, but that's not actually what happens.

Our power doesn't leave us, and no one else can take it.

Instead, we unconsciously begin believing that someone else has more authority, more confidence, or knows better than we do. We start looking outside ourselves for approval, direction, or validation, gradually placing greater value on another person's opinion than our own experience.

These unconscious agreements don't make the other person more powerful. They simply limit our access to our own power.

The good news is that our power has never been lost.

As we become aware of these old beliefs and begin releasing them, we naturally reconnect with the confidence, clarity, and wisdom that have been within us all along.

Returning to Ourselves

One of the first steps in spiritual development is learning to recognize what is our energy and what isn't.

Simple practices such as grounding, becoming centered, and bringing our awareness back to ourselves help us reconnect with our own inner authority. As we release old expectations, limiting beliefs, and energy that doesn't belong to us, we naturally have greater access to our own presence, confidence, and clarity.

We don't have to become someone else.

We don't have to force ourselves to be more outgoing, more competitive, or more like everyone around us.

Our greatest strength comes from becoming more fully ourselves.

That is what it truly means to own our own power.

In my classes, we don't just talk about these concepts—we practice them. Through simple clairvoyant techniques such as grounding, centering, and working with our own energy, you'll learn how to recognize where you've unconsciously placed authority outside yourself, clear what no longer serves you, and reconnect with the power that has always been yours.

If you'd like more individualized support, a clairvoyant reading can help identify old limitations, beliefs, and energy patterns that may be standing in the way of your own power. As these patterns are brought into awareness and released, you'll have greater access to your own clarity, confidence, and authentic self.
